What is Freshdesk MCP?
The Freshdesk MCP server gives AI agents access to your Freshdesk helpdesk. That means agents can search and read tickets, post public replies and private notes, move tickets through their lifecycle, merge and forward duplicates, update contacts and companies, draft and publish knowledge base articles, manage community forum topics, and log time entries. It works across the full Freshdesk support stack, from a single ticket to your contact and company CRM, the knowledge base, and the community forums.
If your support team spends its day copying ticket details into spreadsheets, hunting for the right canned response, manually triaging incoming requests, or assembling weekly support reports by hand, an AI agent can take over a lot of that busywork. Describe what you need, and your AI agent will handle the support operations for you.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that gives AI agents a way to connect to external tools and services. Instead of writing code against the Freshdesk API, encoding your API key for HTTP Basic auth, and parsing JSON responses yourself, you add your Freshdesk subdomain and API key to Gumloop once. After that, you can run your support desk just by chatting with your AI agent.

What you can do with Freshdesk MCP on Gumloop
Manage the full ticket lifecycle
Create, update, and triage tickets with full field control over status, priority, group, responder, tags, SLA dates, and custom fields. Merge duplicate tickets into a primary, forward a ticket as an outbound email, and soft-delete or restore tickets when plans change.
Search tickets, contacts, and companies with the filter DSL
Run structured queries with Freshdesk’s filter syntax, like “status:2 AND priority:>=3”, so an AI agent can pull exactly the tickets, contacts, or companies it needs without scanning every record. List endpoints add filters for email, company, and updated-since windows.
Reply to customers and add internal notes
Read the full conversation thread on a ticket, post public replies to the customer, and add private notes with context, summaries, or next steps for the team. Manage watchers so the right agents stay in the loop.
Keep your contact and company CRM clean
Create and update contacts and companies, merge duplicates, and soft-delete, restore, or hard-delete contacts. An AI agent can deduplicate records, enrich company details like industry and account tier, and keep your customer data tidy.
Author and maintain knowledge base articles
Browse and search solution categories, folders, and articles, then create, update, and delete help articles with draft or published status, tags, and SEO data. An agent can turn recurring ticket patterns into self-service content.
Run community forums
Read forum categories and forums, then create, update, and delete topics and comments. Follow or unfollow topics to keep subscriptions current as discussions evolve.
Track time and manage billing
List, create, update, and delete time entries scoped to tickets and agents, mark them billable, and start or stop timers. An agent can log effort against tickets automatically as work happens.
Discover schema and read admin config
Read agents, groups, roles, skills, products, business hours, SLA policies, CSAT surveys and ratings, and field definitions for tickets, contacts, and companies. An AI agent can discover custom fields before it reads or writes, so it never hard-codes assumptions about your account.
Work with custom object records on Enterprise plans
On Freshdesk Enterprise, list and read custom object records for any schema your team defines, and create, update, and delete them. An agent can extend its work beyond built-in tickets and contacts to your own data model.

Freshdesk MCP use cases
Automated ticket triage for support teams
When new tickets arrive, a Gumloop agent can search for duplicates and merge them, classify each ticket by topic and urgency, set the right priority and group, add a private note summarizing the issue, and post the highest-priority items to a Slack channel. Agents start their day with a clean, prioritized queue instead of an unsorted inbox.
First-response drafting for support reps
An AI agent can read an incoming ticket, look up the relevant canned response and knowledge base article, draft a public reply grounded in your approved templates, and either post it or leave it as a private note for a rep to approve. Customers get faster, brand-consistent answers.
Knowledge base maintenance for support ops
Pull recurring ticket themes, identify gaps in the knowledge base, and have an AI agent draft new solution articles or update stale ones with current information, tags, and SEO data. Support ops closes the loop from repeated questions to published self-service content.
Customer and account hygiene for RevOps
An agent can search contacts and companies with the filter DSL, find and merge duplicate records, enrich company fields like industry, account tier, and renewal date, and sync the cleaned data to a Google Sheet or your CRM. RevOps keeps customer records accurate without manual cleanup.
Cross-platform support reporting
Connect Freshdesk with Slack, Gmail, and Google Sheets in a single agent. Pull ticket volume, CSAT ratings, and time entries on a schedule, have an AI agent summarize trends and flag SLA risks, and deliver a weekly support report to Slack or email. Support leaders get a current picture without anyone exporting CSVs.
Why use Gumloop for Freshdesk MCP
Your subdomain and API key, stored securely
Most Freshdesk MCP servers you’ll find on GitHub require you to store your subdomain and API key in environment variables and write code to handle HTTP Basic auth, pagination, and rate limits. With Gumloop you add your Freshdesk subdomain and API key once, stored securely. No env vars, token management, or coding against the Freshdesk API necessary.
Works with multiple MCP clients
Use the Freshdesk MCP server endpoint in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or directly inside Gumloop agents. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.
Chain Freshdesk with 100+ other integrations
Combine Freshdesk with Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Notion, and other MCP integrations in a single AI agent. An agent can pull a ticket from Freshdesk, summarize it with an LLM, and write the result back to Freshdesk or anywhere else.
Enterprise-grade and scalable
Built for teams, with role-based permissions and dedicated support for Pro users. The Freshdesk MCP server respects your existing Freshdesk access controls, so an agent only reaches what your connected account can. For details on Gumloop’s security practices, see trust.gumloop.com.
Pricing includes a free plan
You can test the Freshdesk MCP integration on Gumloop’s free tier before committing. Paid plans start at $37/month.
