What is Outlook Calendar MCP?

The Outlook Calendar MCP server gives AI agents access to your Microsoft Outlook calendar. That means agents can list and search your calendars and events, create and reschedule meetings, delete events, and check free or busy availability across several people. It covers the core calendar objects you work with: calendars, events, attendees, and availability schedules.

If you spend time finding a slot that works for everyone, typing out meeting invites, rescheduling when plans change, or pulling together your agenda for the day, an AI agent can take that over. Describe what you need, and your AI agent will handle the scheduling for you.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It’s an open standard that gives AI agents a way to connect to external tools and services. Instead of registering an app in Microsoft Entra, configuring Microsoft Graph scopes, and managing OAuth tokens yourself, you connect your Microsoft account to Gumloop once. After that, you manage your calendar just by chatting with your AI agent.

What you can do with Outlook Calendar MCP on Gumloop

  • View and search your calendars and events

List all your calendars, browse events in a date range, and search events by subject. Your AI agent can pull your schedule for the week or find a specific meeting without you opening Outlook.

  • Create meetings and events

Schedule a new event with a subject, time, location, attendees, reminders, and importance, and set how it shows on your calendar (free, tentative, busy, or out of office). An AI agent can book a meeting from a plain-language request.

  • Add a Teams meeting in one step

Create an event as an online meeting and a Microsoft Teams join link is generated and returned automatically. Your agent can set up a video call without you needing to copy links and send them around.

  • Reschedule and update events

Update any detail of an existing event, like the time, location, attendees, or description, without recreating it. An agent can move a meeting or add a guest in place.

  • Delete events

Remove events you no longer need, so an AI agent can keep your calendar clean as plans change.

  • Check availability across people

Look up free or busy status for one or more people over a time range before scheduling. An AI agent can find when a group is open and propose a time that works.

Outlook Calendar MCP use cases

An AI scheduling assistant for individuals

When you need a meeting, an agent can check the attendees’ availability, create the event at a time that works with a Teams link, set a reminder, and invite everyone. You go from “find time with the team” to a booked meeting in one request.

Meeting booking from email or Slack for EAs and ops

An agent can read a scheduling request from an email or a Slack message, check the relevant calendars for an open slot, and book the event with the right attendees and location. Coordinators stop playing calendar tag.

Calendar triage and rescheduling

An AI agent can list your events for the week, flag conflicts or back-to-back stretches, and reschedule the ones that clash. Your week gets tidied without you dragging events around.

Cross-tool scheduling for RevOps

When a deal hits a stage or a form is submitted, an agent can create the matching meeting in Outlook Calendar with a Teams link and post the details to Slack. Scheduling happens the moment the trigger fires.

Daily agenda briefing

Each morning, an agent can pull your events for the day, gather the details and attendees, and post a clean agenda to Slack or email. You start the day knowing exactly what’s ahead.

Why use Gumloop for Outlook Calendar MCP

  • Connect your Microsoft account once, no app registration or token wrangling

Most Outlook Calendar integrations you’ll find on GitHub make you register an app in Microsoft Entra, configure Graph API scopes, and manage OAuth refresh tokens yourself. With Gumloop you connect your Microsoft account once and Gumloop handles authentication, including refreshing your access, so you stay connected. No Azure setup, token management, or code required.

  • Works with multiple MCP clients

Use the Outlook Calendar MCP server endpoint in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or directly inside Gumloop agents. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.

  • Chain Outlook Calendar with 100+ other integrations

Combine Outlook Calendar with Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and other MCP tools in a single AI agent. An agent can read a request from email, check availability, book the meeting, and post a confirmation to Slack, all in one run.

  • Enterprise-grade and scalable

Built for teams, with role-based permissions and dedicated support for Pro users. For details on Gumloop’s security practices, see trust.gumloop.com.

  • Pricing with a free trial
