What is PayPal MCP?
The PayPal MCP server lets your AI agent work directly inside your PayPal account. That means agents can create and send invoices, capture payment on orders, issue and look up refunds, review and accept disputes, list transactions and merchant insights, create and manage subscriptions and plans, manage catalog products, and track shipments. Instead of clicking through the PayPal dashboard, you tell your agent what you want, and it acts on your PayPal data for you.
If you spend time in PayPal manually reconciling transactions, chasing down unpaid invoices, or digging through screens to check on disputes or process refunds, an AI agent can automate away a lot of this friction. Just describe what you need, and your AI agent will handle the repetitive billing and reporting work for you.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI agents connect to external tools like PayPal. Instead of registering your own PayPal app, managing client secrets, and writing code against the PayPal API, you connect your PayPal account to Gumloop once. After that, you can run your PayPal account just by chatting with your AI agent.

What you can do with PayPal MCP on Gumloop
Create and send invoices
Draft an invoice, add line items, list and read invoices, send it to a customer, fire off reminders, cancel a sent invoice, or generate a QR code for it. Creating and sending invoices bills a real customer, so treat it as a real financial action worth a human-approval step.
Create orders, capture payment, and issue refunds
Build an order, read its details, capture payment on it, and create or look up refunds. Capturing payment and issuing refunds both move real money, so we recommend gating these actions behind human approval.
Review and resolve disputes
List disputes, pull the full detail on any one, and accept a dispute claim. Accepting a claim resolves it in the buyer’s favor and refunds them, so treat it as a real financial action worth a human-approval step.
Report on transactions and insights
List transactions across a date range and pull merchant insights so your agent can reconcile, summarize, and report on money moving through your account.
Manage subscriptions and plans
Create subscription plans, list them, and read plan details, then create, read, update, and cancel subscriptions. Changing subscriptions changes real billing, so keep a human in the loop.
Manage catalog products
Create products and list your catalog so subscription plans and offers stay accurate.
Track shipments
Create, read, and update shipment tracking on PayPal transactions so buyers stay informed and orders close cleanly.

PayPal MCP use cases
Finance analyst reconciling the month with PayPal MCP
Ask your agent to pull every transaction from the last 31 days, add merchant insights, group the totals, and flag anything unusual. It reads your transaction history through the PayPal MCP server and hands you a clean summary in seconds, no CSV export required.
Billing specialist chasing unpaid invoices with PayPal MCP
Tell your agent to list every unpaid invoice and send a reminder on each one. It reviews invoice status through the PayPal MCP server and sends nudges, so accounts receivable keeps moving without you touching the dashboard.
Support lead handling refunds and disputes with PayPal MCP
When a refund request or dispute comes in, ask your agent to pull the order and dispute details and prepare the refund. It reads everything through the PayPal MCP server and holds the actual refund or dispute acceptance for your sign-off, since both move money to the buyer.
Subscription ops lead managing plans with PayPal MCP
Ask your agent to spin up a new plan, or to update or cancel a churned customer’s subscription. It creates plans and manages subscriptions through the PayPal MCP server, with billing changes gated behind your approval.
Ecommerce merchant closing orders with PayPal MCP
Have your agent capture payment on orders and add shipment tracking as items ship. It works orders through the PayPal MCP server so fulfillment stays tidy, and it pauses for your confirmation before it captures real payment.
Why use Gumloop for PayPal MCP
Connect once, no PayPal app to register

Use your favorite AI client
Connect the PayPal MCP server through Gumloop and reach it from whichever agent or client you already work in. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.
Chain PayPal with 100+ other integrations
Combine PayPal with any other MCP integrations in a single agent, so one request can pull a transaction, update a sheet, and post to Slack.
Built for teams that care about trust
Gumloop is enterprise-grade and respects your existing PayPal permissions. For details on Gumloop’s security practices, see trust.gumloop.com.
