What is Google Tasks MCP?
The Google Tasks MCP server gives AI agents access to your Google Tasks. That means agents can create and update tasks, organize and rename task lists, search across your to-dos, reorder and nest tasks into subtasks, mark items complete, and clear out finished work. It covers the core Google Tasks objects you use every day: your task lists and the tasks inside them.
If you keep a running to-do list but spend time typing tasks in by hand, copying action items out of emails and meeting notes, or tidying up finished items, an AI agent can take that over. Describe what you need, and your AI agent will handle your task list for you.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It’s an open standard that gives AI agents a way to connect to external tools and services. Instead of creating a Google Cloud project, configuring an OAuth consent screen, and managing client credentials yourself, you connect your Google account to Gumloop once. After that, you can manage your tasks and lists just by chatting with your AI agent.

What you can do with Google Tasks MCP on Gumloop
Create and update tasks
Add new tasks with a title, notes, and due date, and update any of those fields later. An AI agent can capture a to-do from an email, a message, or a meeting note and drop it straight onto the right list.
Build and organize task lists
Create, rename, and delete task lists, and list all the lists in your account. An agent can set up a dedicated list for a project or client and keep your lists structured.
Find tasks fast
List tasks from a specific list or search across all of them. Your AI agent can pull everything due today, find a task by keyword, or gather all open items for a project.
Reorder and nest tasks into subtasks
Move a task to a new position in a list or under a different parent to create subtasks. An agent can reprioritize your day or break a big task into a structured checklist.
Mark tasks complete and clear finished work
Update a task’s status to complete and clear all completed tasks from a list in one step. An agent can close out what’s done and keep your lists focused on what’s left.
Delete tasks and lists
Remove individual tasks or entire task lists when they’re no longer needed, so an AI agent can keep your workspace clean as priorities change.

Google Tasks MCP use cases
Turn emails and messages into tasks for busy professionals
An AI agent can read a flagged email or a Slack message, pull out what needs doing, and create a task with a due date on the right list. Action items get captured the moment they arrive instead of slipping through the cracks.
Meeting action items for managers
Feed a meeting transcript or notes doc to an agent, have it extract the action items, and create a task for each one with the relevant context in the notes. The follow-ups are on your list before you leave the room.
Daily planning and triage
Each morning, an agent can pull every task due today across your lists, reorder them by priority, and post a clean plan to Slack. You start the day with a focused, ordered list instead of a scattered backlog.
Project task lists from a brief
Give an agent a project brief and have it create a dedicated task list, then populate it with tasks and subtasks broken down from the plan. A new project goes from a document to an actionable checklist in one run.
Scheduled list cleanup
On a schedule, an agent can clear completed tasks, delete stale lists, and roll incomplete items forward, keeping your Google Tasks tidy without you maintaining it by hand.
Why use Gumloop for Google Tasks MCP
Connect your Google account once, no GCP project or OAuth setup
Most Google Tasks integrations you’ll find on GitHub make you create a Google Cloud project, configure an OAuth consent screen, set up a client ID and secret, and manage tokens yourself. With Gumloop you just connect your Google account and Gumloop handles authentication, so there’s no project to configure and no code.
Works with multiple MCP clients
Use the Google Tasks MCP server endpoint in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or directly inside Gumloop agents. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.
Chain Google Tasks with 100+ other integrations
Combine Google Tasks with Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion, and other MCP tools in a single AI agent. An agent can read an email, create a task from it, and add a matching event to your calendar, all in one run.
Enterprise-grade and scalable
Built for teams, with role-based permissions and dedicated support for Pro users. For details on Gumloop’s security practices, see trust.gumloop.com.
Pricing includes a free plan
You can test the Google Tasks MCP integration on Gumloop’s free tier before committing. Paid plans start at $37/month.
