What is Google AppSheet MCP?
The Google AppSheet MCP server gives AI agents access to the data inside your AppSheet app. That means agents can read and query rows from any table, add new records, update existing ones, and delete rows (and all in batches, if needed). It works on your app’s table rows, so an AI agent can read and write the same operational data your team uses every day.
If you spend time manually entering records into an AppSheet app, cleaning up rows by hand, or copying data between AppSheet and other systems, an AI agent can take over a lot of that work. Describe what you need, and your AI agent will read or update the rows for you.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It’s an open standard that gives AI agents a way to connect to external tools and services. Instead of writing code against the AppSheet API, building the Action payloads, and handling authentication yourself, you add your AppSheet App ID and Access Key to Gumloop once. After that, you work with your app’s data just by asking your AI agent in plain language.

What you can do with Google AppSheet MCP on Gumloop
Read and query table data
Retrieve rows from any table in your app, with optional filtering using AppSheet’s native expression language (e.g. Filter(Table, [Status] = "Active") or Top(...)) or a direct key-value lookup. Returns every field, including virtual and computed columns.
Add new records
Insert one or many rows into a table in a single call. The server returns the added rows with any auto-generated and computed field values filled in.
Update existing records
Modify fields on existing rows by their key column, in batch when you need to. Updates are idempotent, so they’re safe to retry.
Delete records
Remove rows by key column, individually or in bulk. Useful for automated cleanup and archiving.
Full CRUD on any table in your app
One server covers read, add, update, and delete across every table in the connected app, with no per-table setup. An AI agent can manage your app’s data end to end.
Query with AppSheet expressions
The selector passes through AppSheet’s built-in filter and sort expressions, so an AI agent can build precise queries the same way you would inside AppSheet.
How to connect the Gumloop Google AppSheet MCP Server
- 1
Create a free Gumloop account
Sign up at gumloop.com. No credit card required.
- 2
Add the Google AppSheet MCP server
Copy your MCP server URL from Gumloop and add it to your preferred client (Claude, Cursor, or Gumloop workflows). You'll authorize on first use.
- 3
Start using Google AppSheet in your AI workflows
That's it. Your AI agent can now read, add, update, and delete rows across your AppSheet app’s tables. Use it inside a Gumloop automation, in Claude Desktop, or in Cursor.
Google AppSheet MCP use cases
AI-driven data entry for operations teams
When new information arrives (a form submission, an email, a record from another tool), an AI agent can add the right rows to your AppSheet app automatically, including the fields your app expects. Ops teams can keep their apps current without manual data entry.
Bulk updates and data cleanup for business analysts
An AI agent can pull rows that match a condition (using an AppSheet filter expression), update those rows in batch, or delete stale records. Skip tedious manual cleanup and let your agent handle it for you.
Two-way sync between AppSheet and your stack
Combine AppSheet with other MCP tools to keep all your systems connected and up-to-date. Pull records from a CRM or a Google Sheet, write them into your AppSheet app, or push AppSheet updates back out. Your no-code app stays in sync with the rest of your data.
Natural-language reporting on app data
Ask an AI agent a question about your app’s data and let it query the relevant table, read the computed columns, and summarize the answer. You don’t need to export rows or build a view.
Automated record lifecycle
Drive records through their stages automatically: when a status changes elsewhere, an AI agent updates the matching row; when records age out, it archives or deletes them, keeping your AppSheet data clean on its own.
Why use Gumloop for Google AppSheet MCP
Your App ID and Access Key, stored securely (no code)
Building your own AppSheet MCP server means generating an Application Access Key, wiring up the AppSheet API’s Action endpoints, and writing code to handle authentication and batching. With Gumloop, you paste your App ID and Access Key once and they’re stored securely. No config files, no token handling, and no need to code against the AppSheet API.
Works with multiple MCP clients
Use the Google AppSheet MCP server endpoint in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or directly inside Gumloop. Same server URL, works with any MCP client.
Chain AppSheet with 100+ other integrations
Combine AppSheet with Google Sheets, Salesforce, BigQuery, Slack, and other MCP tools in a single AI agent. Move data into your app from anywhere, or push app updates out to the rest of your stack.
Enterprise-grade and scalable
Built for teams, with role-based permissions and dedicated support for Pro users. The AppSheet MCP respects your app’s permissions and access controls, so agents only do what your credentials allow.
Pricing includes a free plan
You can test the Google AppSheet MCP integration on Gumloop’s free tier before committing. Paid plans start at $37/month. (Note: AppSheet’s own API access requires an AppSheet Enterprise plan.)
