What is Airtable MCP?
The Airtable MCP server gives AI agents full access to your Airtable workspace. That means listing bases, browsing table schemas, reading records with filters and sorting, creating new records, updating existing ones, deleting records, and even managing table structure (creating fields, updating tables). It also supports comments on records for collaboration workflows.
If you’re a project manager who lives in Airtable, a marketing team tracking campaigns, or an ops team running processes through Airtable bases, this integration lets you automate the repetitive data entry and record management that eats up your day. Describe what you need and your AI agent handles the Airtable operations.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It’s an open standard that lets AI agents connect to external tools and data sources. Instead of writing scripts against the Airtable REST API, managing personal access tokens, or building custom Zapier integrations, you connect the Airtable MCP server and let your AI agent manage records through natural language.
What you can do with Airtable MCP on Gumloop
List and filter records from any table
Query records from any Airtable table with filtering, sorting, and field selection. Your AI agent can pull specific subsets of data based on conditions you describe in natural language. Results include all field values plus record metadata.
Create new records
Add new records to any Airtable table with all the field values you specify. Works for single records or batch creation. Your AI agent can populate records from data gathered from other MCP tools.
Update existing records
Modify field values on existing records. Whether you’re updating a status field, adding a note, or changing an assignment, your AI agent can handle it. Supports batch updates for changing multiple records at once.
Browse bases and table schemas
List all your Airtable bases and the tables within them. Get detailed schema information including field names, field types, and configuration. Useful for discovery when you’re working with unfamiliar bases.
Manage table structure
Create new tables, add fields to existing tables, and update table metadata. Your AI agent can help you set up new Airtable bases with the right structure without manual configuration.
Delete records
Remove one or more records from a table. Useful for cleanup workflows or automations that need to remove outdated entries.
Manage record comments
List, create, update, and delete comments on specific records. This enables collaboration workflows where your AI agent can leave notes, updates, or summaries directly on the relevant Airtable records.
Get individual records by ID
Retrieve a specific record with all its field data when you know the record ID. Useful for lookup-based workflows where you need to check or update a specific entry.

Airtable MCP use cases
CRM and pipeline management automation
Use Airtable as a lightweight CRM and automate the grunt work. A Gumloop workflow can create new contact records from form submissions, update deal stages based on email replies, or move records between views when certain conditions are met. Combine with Gmail or Slack MCP tools to keep everything in sync.
Content calendar management
Marketing teams using Airtable for content planning can automate record creation from briefs, update status fields as content moves through review, and pull upcoming deadlines into a Slack digest. Your AI agent can also generate draft content and add it directly to the appropriate Airtable record.
Inventory and operations tracking
Ops teams can automate Airtable updates when inventory levels change, new orders come in, or shipments are dispatched. Chain the Airtable MCP with email or Slack notifications to alert the team when specific thresholds are hit.
Project tracking and reporting
Pull task data from Airtable, have an AI agent generate a status report summarizing what’s completed, what’s in progress, and what’s blocked, then push that report to Slack or a Google Doc. Automates the weekly status update process that nobody enjoys writing.
Data enrichment from external sources
Combine Airtable with other MCP tools to enrich your records. Pull company data from a web scraper, LinkedIn, or a CRM, then update the corresponding Airtable records with the new information. Turns Airtable into a richer database without manual data entry.
Why use Gumloop for Airtable MCP
No API token management
Most Airtable integrations require you to generate a personal access token, configure scopes, and manage token rotation. Gumloop handles authentication for you. Connect your Airtable account once and you’re set.
Works with multiple MCP clients
Use the Airtable MCP server in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or directly inside Gumloop workflows. Same endpoint, multiple clients.
Chain Airtable with 100+ other integrations
Combine Airtable data with Slack, Google Sheets, Gmail, Salesforce, and other MCP tools in a single workflow. Pull records from Airtable, process them with an LLM, and push results wherever you need them.
Enterprise-grade and scalable
SOC 2 compliant, built for teams, with role-based permissions and dedicated support. Works for solo users and organizations managing multiple Airtable bases.
Free plan available
