8 Make.com alternatives I’ve used that actually work

I spent the last year testing all of the different Make alternatives out there.

As someone who runs one of the biggest marketing blogs out there, I'm constantly testing out different AI automation tools to help me run my media company (and marketing agency).

Make.com is a very popular platform, and I know a lot of people in the tech industry that use it (especially those who are just starting out and need something budget-friendly).

But since the rise of AI models like ChatGPT and Claude, there have been a plethora of new workflow automation tools that are not only the same price as Make, but also have more AI-native features.

And in this article, I'm going to give you some of my favorite alternatives to Make that can not only create AI automations, but also full-blown AI agents as well.

But first, let me tell you what to look for when evaluating a new tool. The AI space can feel overwhelming with a bunch of noise and bad advice. So let me show you how to sift through and find the real signal.

What to look for in a Make alternative

Make is a great platform for building automations if you’re on a budget. I first started using the tool back when I was working at Webflow (and the platform was called Integromat). It’s been cool seeing the rise of the platform.

But, since LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude have launched, it’s a no-brainer that automation tools need AI functionality to them. And most automation platforms that existed pre-2022 were simply just API connectors.

Today, it’s important to find a platform that can integrate with more than just APIs. Think all the different LLM models, MCP, and the ability to create AI agents that can make decisions on their own.

So, here are some things I believe you should look out for when finding an alternative to Make:

  • AI-native platform: The platform you choose should be able to integrate with any premium LLM model, and give you the ability to create logic that can make decisions on its own.
  • AI workflows and AI agents: There’s a difference between the two, and the platform you pick should allow you to build both. Check out this article if you want to learn about the difference between them.
  • Does it have community support: These AI automations are still very new. Look out for platforms that have a growing community around them. This will give you more resources if you get stuck building out your custom workflows.
  • Secure: This is especially important if you are feeding in an AI model sensitive data. Be it your analytics, customer information, or an internal company doc, you should make sure that the platform you chose is secure and gives you full control over your data. Make sure it doesn’t train on your data unless you give it consent.

Of course there are a bunch of other things we can go over like how the UI looks and what tools it integrates with. But the items I listed above are the core things you should look out for (that most people don’t mention).

Below, I’ll give you the best Make alternatives on the market right now. I’ll also tell you who they’re best for and what I like (and don’t like) about each one.

Alright, let’s get started.

8 Make.com alternatives to create automations in 2025

Here are the best Make alternatives:

  1. Gumloop
  2. n8n
  3. Zapier
  4. Relay.app
  5. Lindy AI
  6. IFTTT
  7. Stack AI
  8. Integrately

Okay, let’s go over each one.

1. Gumloop

Gumloop automation platform
  • Best for: Startups, agencies, and freelancers who want AI-first automation with LLM integrations
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $37/month
  • What I like: Gummie AI assistant builds automations through conversation, generous free plan with competitive pricing, and can turn automations into apps

Gumloop is an AI-powered automation tool that lets you build both AI workflows and AI agents. I've been using the tool for almost a year now and it's quickly become my favorite AI tool on the market.

The platform works by giving you a visual canvas where you can drag on all of your favorite tools like Gmail, Notion, Slack, Semrush, and literally whatever (using their MCP node) and integrate it with any premium LLM model (like ChatGPT, Claude, Deepseek, Grok and more).

It's a great alternative to Make if you're looking for an AI-first approach to automation. For example, you can create automations that integrate both the functionality of your existing tools with an LLM (that can make decisions on your behalf).

To give you an example, Webflow used Gumloop to search Reddit and other social media platforms for mentions of Webflow. And then took those mentions and used ChatGPT to understand the sentiment of those comments. And it then sent the most critical ones as a report to the marketing team both through email and Slack.

AI agent workflow for finding brand mentions on social media

But that's just the tip of the iceberg. There are tons of templates you can check out to see what you can automate. And you can even use Gummie, Gumloop's AI chatbot assistant, to help you get ideas of what to automate and it can also build out those automations through natural language.

Here are some things I like about Gumloop:

  • The Gummie AI assistant can build AI-powered automations for you simply by talking to it
  • It has a generous free plan and the paid plans are very competitively priced to other tools on the market
  • It's great for marketers, agencies and freelancers, but it also caters to larger companies and some customers include Shopify, Instacart and Webflow
  • You can turn your automations into apps that others can use

Here are some things I don't like about Gumloop:

  • The platform is still growing and fairly new so the UI changes at times
  • I wish there were more templates and creators on YouTube showing the automations they've built

Overall, if you're looking for a Make alternative that can integrate with almost any tool or LLM, and you're intimidated by creating workflows (without the help of an AI assistant building it for you), I can't recommend Gumloop enough. I personally don't work at the company but I am a customer which is why they allow me to write this.

Gumloop pricing

Gumloop's pricing plans

Here are Gumloop's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 2k credits per month, 1 seat, and unlimited flows
  • Solo: $37/month with 10k+ credits per month, unlimited triggers, and webhooks
  • Team: $244/month with 60k+ credits per month, 10 seats, and dedicated Slack support
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with role-based access control, SCIM/SAML support, and virtual private cloud

If you want to learn more about what each plan has to offer, you can check out the pricing page.

Gumloop reviews

Here are what customers of Gumloop say about the platform:

"Gumloop wins time back across an org. It puts the tools into the hands of people who understand a task and lets them completely automate it away." — Bryant Chou, Co-Founder @ Webflow
"Gumloop has been critical in helping all teams at Instacart - including those without technical skills - adopt AI and automate their workflows, which has greatly improved our operational efficiency." — Fidji Simo, CEO @ Instacart

You can see what others say on social media on Gumloop's wall of love.

2. n8n

n8n AI workflow automation tool
  • Best for: Developers and technical teams who want self-hosting options and complex workflow automation
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $24/month
  • What I like: Self-hosting features, large community with tons of tutorials, and can handle complex multi-step workflows

n8n is a powerful AI workflow automation platform mostly designed for developers and technical teams. It has a very similar user interface compared to Make, but it does lean a bit more on the complex side.

n8n workflow builder

What I mean by this is that while Make feels more like a no-code tool, I would consider n8n to be a low-code platform. n8n has become popular in the workflow automation era that we're currently in, mainly because of its self-hosting features and ability to build complex workflows.

The n8n ecosystem is also quite large with tons of creators creating templates and tutorials on YouTube on how to use the platform.

Here are some things I like about n8n:

  • It's a popular platform with tons of resources online on how to use it
  • Has self-hosting options if you are focused a lot on security
  • Can be used for multiple use cases like IT, security, DevOps, and sales
  • Includes a free plan so you can get started and test it out

Here are some things I don't like about n8n:

  • The drag-and-drop interface can feel a bit intimidating and clunky
  • Platform has a pretty steep learning curve
  • You will have to use your own LLM API keys to build multi-step agents

Overall, I would consider n8n a big brother to Make that has a bit more features with also a higher price point. But if you are looking for something a bit more user-friendly, it might be worth looking into an alternative.

n8n pricing

n8n pricing plans

Here are n8n's pricing plans:

  • Starter: $24/month with 2.5k workflow executions and unlimited steps (hosted by n8n)
  • Pro: $60/month for 10k workflow executions with 3 shared projects and admin roles
  • Business: $800/month for 40k workflow executions with self-hosted options and SSO/SAML
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with unlimited shared projects and dedicated support with SLA

3. Zapier

Zapier automation platform
  • Best for: Reliable automation with the widest range of app integrations
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $29.99/month
  • What I like: Tons of integrations, stable platform, and user-friendly interface that's simple to understand

If you use Make then you have probably heard of Zapier. It's probably the most popular automation tool that is now moving towards AI workflow orchestration. And Zapier is actually the first automation tool that I started using to automate different business processes in my own agency and media company.

Workflow in Zapier

The platform is very similar to Make in that you can create automations in a drag-and-drop interface. You connect all of your favorite apps together and create conditional logic on how the automation should run.

I would say that if you use Make.com then Zapier's customer base is very similar. It's designed for non-technical users and I honestly think it is a better alternative to Make simply because it's more stable and the user interface is very clean and simple to understand.

Here are some things I like about Zapier:

  • It has tons of integrations with existing tools
  • They now have LLM features to create AI-powered automations
  • Has a user-friendly interface that is simple to understand

Here are some things I don't like about Zapier:

  • Can be a bit pricey if you just need a couple automations here and there
  • I've personally noticed that sometimes the workflows will say they failed but in reality they ran successfully (it could be a weird bug)
  • Its advanced features might be a bit intimidating for beginners
  • Has separate paid plans for AI workflows and AI agents (unlike Gumloop that combines them)

Overall, I think that Zapier is one of the best alternatives to Make.com. It's up there with Gumloop. And I would say if you are looking for a tool that can replace your workflows in Make, if you want a more AI-driven platform use Gumloop. But if you want a more automation-focused platform check out Zapier.

Zapier pricing

Zapier's pricing plans

Here are Zapier's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 100 tasks per month and two-step Zaps
  • Professional: $29.99/month for multi-step Zaps, unlimited premium apps, and webhooks
  • Team: $103.50/month for 25 users with shared Zaps, folders, and SAML SSO
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with unlimited users and advanced admin permissions

If you want to learn more about what each plan has to offer, you can check out the pricing page.

4. Relay.app

Relay.app automation platform
  • Best for: Marketers and sales ops teams who want simple AI-powered automations
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $27/month
  • What I like: Easy-to-use interface, human-in-the-loop features for approvals, and solid amount of integrations

Relay.app is an AI agent builder designed to help you build automated workflows by combining your everyday tools like Gmail, Slack, Google Calendar and more with LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude.

It has a very similar user interface compared to Zapier but it does lean more on the AI-first side like Gumloop. And I would say it's a platform designed mostly for marketers and sales ops at startups.

For example, you can create a social media poster (eliminating the need to use tools like Buffer), you could create a meeting follow-up generator, and you can even create a competitor report agent.

Similar to most of these tools on this list there's a wide range of use cases you can use it for, but they mainly advertise themselves as an AI tool built for simple automations in your day-to-day work.

Here are some things I like about Relay.app:

  • Easy-to-use interface
  • Includes human-in-the-loop features for task approval and data entry
  • Has a solid amount of integrations built in

Here are some things I don't like about Relay.app:

  • Not the best for handling complex workflows like Make or n8n
  • Doesn't have a workflow duplication feature similar to Gumloop

Overall, it's a simple and easy-to-use platform and it's used by some big companies like Ramp, Cursor and Motion. So it's fairly trustworthy and a solid Make alternative to check out. But if you need something a bit more advanced that can handle multiple automations at once, it might be worth looking into an alternative.

Relay.app pricing plans

Here are Relay.app's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month for 1 user with 500 free AI credits per month and multi-step workflows
  • Professional: $27/month for 1 user with 5,000 free AI credits and 750 steps per month
  • Team: $98/month for 10 users with shared workflows and 2,000 steps per month
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with custom usage limits, integrations, and SOC2 & GDPR compliance

5. Lindy AI

Lindy AI automation platform
  • Best for: Customer support and sales teams who want to automate repetitive tasks
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $49.99/month
  • What I like: Chatbot interface for building agents, wide range of integrations, and SOC 2 and GDPR compliant

Lindy AI is another AI agent builder that is designed to help you create AI employees. It works best for customer support, sales and marketing outreach teams looking to automate small repetitive tasks within their campaigns and workflows.

The platform is used by companies like AppLovin, LabelBox, Ripple and more. So it looks like the platform is best served for mid-size startups that have larger teams juggling multiple workflows that have a lot of nuance to them.

For example, if you have to make note of different notifications that come in and have to update CRM platforms for leads, pretty much all the tasks that a junior employee would normally have to do, you can automate these with Lindy AI.

Here are some things I like about Lindy AI:

  • Has a chatbot interface for creating your first agent
  • Has a wide range of integrations so it can work with your existing accounts
  • SOC 2 and GDPR compliant so it does have enterprise-grade security

Here are some things I don't like about Lindy AI:

  • It's mostly good for customer service and sales teams, so it may not be the best for other use cases
  • While it does have a free plan, the initial pricing plan is a bit higher than self-serve builder tools on the market

Overall, Lindy AI is a promising platform that can make a great alternative to Make (no pun intended). However, if you need advanced marketing automations it might be worth looking into an alternative.

Here are Lindy AI's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 400 credits per month and up to 40 tasks
  • Pro: $49.99/month with 5,000 credits per month and up to 1,500 tasks
  • Business: $199.99/month with 20,000 credits per month and unlimited phone calls
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with priority support and dedicated AI engineer

6. IFTTT

IFTTT automation tool
  • Best for: Home automations for personal everyday tasks
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $3.99/month
  • What I like: Budget-friendly pricing, iOS and Android app for managing automations on the go, and simple to use

IFTTT (if this then that) is one of the first automation platforms on the market. It's the tool that exposed me to the world of automation almost 13 years ago, and it's still a solid platform if you need simple automations.

It's great for personal automations like updating your calendar based off different events (like a kid's soccer game coming up or a parent-teacher conference), and it also has an iOS and Android app so you can track all of your automations on the go.

It can be used for business processes as well, however I would say this platform leans more on the consumer side given it advertises itself more towards personal automations and the price point also fits that of consumer products (it's pretty cheap).

Here are some things I like about IFTTT:

  • Budget-friendly and the cheapest automation tool you can find
  • Has an iOS and Android app to manage automations on the go
  • Pretty simple and straightforward to use

Here are some things I don't like about IFTTT:

  • Not the best for creating AI-powered automations
  • Focuses more on personal automations over B2B

Overall, if you're looking for a platform to help you automate tasks in your personal life this is definitely a tool to check out. However, if you are looking for a closer alternative to Make you're probably better off using Gumloop, n8n, or Zapier.

Here are IFTTT's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 2 Applets and unlimited Applet runs
  • Pro: $3.99/month with 20 Applets, fastest speeds, and multi-action Applets
  • Pro+: $11.99/month with unlimited Applets, AI services, and prioritized customer support

7. Stack AI

Stack AI automation platform
  • Best for: Enterprise-level companies
  • Pricing: Free, then custom pricing
  • What I like: Super clean user interface, free plan to test the platform, and wide range of templates to choose from

Stack AI is an enterprise-level AI agent builder. It has a similar drag-and-drop interface to Make.com but what I love about this platform is how clean the UI/UX is. It's a typical builder tool like Zapier or Relay.app, but they do focus more on the enterprise side of things.

It's not the best tool if you're a startup but if you're a midsize or larger business, we're talking like 300 employees and up, then this is definitely a workflow automation tool to look into. There is another platform similar to Stack AI called Workato which is more of a solution-built tool.

With Workato, you pay for the company to build out the automation for you. But with Stack AI you get that same enterprise-level security and scalability but you have the flexibility of your own internal team building out the workflows (you can also get assistance from the Stack AI team).

Here are some things I like about Stack AI:

  • Super clean user interface (honestly one of my favorite builder UIs out there)
  • Has a free plan so you can play around with the tool before you book a call
  • Has a wide range of templates that you can pick from and get ideas for agents to build

Here are some things I don't like about Stack AI:

  • The tool is built for enterprise so smaller startups and freelancers (like myself) can't really get the benefit of it, even though I love the way the UI looks
  • You do need to have a technical background to use this workflow builder

Overall, if you're an enterprise-level company looking for an AI agent builder, and you have the resources internally for your team to build out the workflows themselves, this is definitely a tool to check out.

Stack AI pricing

Stack AI pricing plans

Here are Stack AI's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 500 runs per month, 2 projects, and 1 seat
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing with custom number of runs, dedicated infrastructure, on-prem deployment, and SOC 2, HIPAA & GDPR compliance

If you want to learn more about what each plan has to offer, you can check out the pricing page.

8. Integrately

Integrately pricing plans
  • Best for: Ecommerce businesses looking for budget-friendly automation
  • Pricing: Free, then starts at $29.99/month
  • What I like: Integrates with over 1,400 apps, has over 20 million ready-made automations, and budget-friendly pricing

Integrately is an automation platform designed for multiple different use cases and audiences. However, if you're currently using Make and you're looking for an alternative, then this platform is probably best if you're an e-commerce business.

Integrately integrates with tons of ecommerce tech stacks, different CRMs, and email marketing platforms. If you're more of a legacy ecommerce business that uses a handful of older tools, there's a good chance Integrately can integrate with it.

Here are some things I like about Integrately:

  • Can integrate with over 1,400 apps
  • Has over 20 million ready-made automations
  • Budget-friendly tool that's great for ecommerce websites

Here are some things I don't like about Integrately:

  • It doesn't have the best AI features that can integrate with LLMs
  • May not be the most ideal platform if you're an enterprise software company or startup

Overall, Integrately is a solid choice and I want to include it in this list because I do think it's a good platform for ecommerce websites.

Integrately pricing

Integrately pricing plans

Here are Integrately's pricing plans:

  • Free: $0/month with 100 tasks and 24x5 live chat support
  • Starter: $29.99/month with 2,000 tasks and multiple steps (1 user)
  • Professional: $49/month with 10,000 tasks and unlimited premium apps (1 user)
  • Growth: $124/month with 30,000 tasks and dedicated account manager (unlimited users)
  • Business: $299/month with 150,000 tasks and unlimited folder permissions

Integrately reviews

Here's what customers of Integrately rate the platform on third-party review sites:

Build any automation or AI agent

If you've made it this far, you now have a solid list of Make alternatives to choose from. Each platform has its own strengths depending on what you're looking for.

If you need self-hosting and don't mind a steeper learning curve, n8n is your best bet. If you want the most integrations and a streamlined platform, Zapier is hard to beat. And if you're looking for something specifically for customer support or sales teams, Lindy AI and Relay.app are solid choices.

But if I'm being honest, Gumloop is the best overall option for most people that are familiar with Make. It works for startups, agencies, freelancers, and even larger companies. It has the AI-first approach that Make lacks, it's competitively priced, and the Gummie assistant makes it easy to build automations even if you're not technical. Plus, it can handle both simple workflows and complex AI agents, so you don't need to bounce between (and pay for) multiple tools.

At the end of the day, the best Make alternative depends on your specific needs. But if you're looking for a platform that can grow with you and handle pretty much any use case you throw at it, I'd start with Gumloop.
